🤖 Anthropic doesn’t just want to build smarter AI anymore, it wants to build the chips too. The company has officially confirmed it’s creating an in-house silicon team to design custom AI chips for Claude. That’s a huge shift from relying entirely on Nvidia and other chipmakers. Why? Because the company that controls both the AI model and the hardware has a massive advantage. Custom chips can make Claude faster, cheaper to run, and far more efficient. Don’t expect Anthropic to ditch Nvidia overnight, though. It says it will keep using a mix of hardware from partners like Nvidia, Google, AWS, and AMD while developing its own chips. Source. @aipost 🏴
