⚠️Your Claude account may soon need a passport and a selfie to log in. Starting July 8, Anthropic will begin “selectively” requiring users to verify their age and identity with a government-issued passport and a selfie before accessing Claude. The company says the move is designed to keep its services “safe and secure” and to meet evolving regulatory requirements. The new verification rules will apply to Free, Pro, and Max subscribers. Business plans and API users will not be affected. For now, Anthropic says the checks will be rolled out selectively, though anyone who has watched tech platforms introduce “optional” verification before knows how these things can evolve.
